Information on Live Sessions

Here“s a tutorial on how to register and download the program. If you have questions, please post them to the BaW Yahoo Group before ....

1. What is your definition of a blog, a wiki,  and a Social Network? How are they similar/different? If you would like some ideas, take a look at the suggested readings for this week. Post your definitions and comments on our forum

There are many videos that would be interesting to explore on our Video page.

Here is a blog about a blog: http://www.bloggingbasics101.com/ - it is quite informative: go through the categories on the right menu.

2. Visit our blog and explore the different features.

  • How do you post a comment on the blog?
  • How do you moderate comments?
  • How do you post videos, slideshows, pictures?
  • How can you customize the header?
  • How do you post widgets?
  • How do you invite people to contribute as collaborators and authors?

(These are important things you should know when blogging; the answers to these questions are not supposed to be posted to the group, but explore them when you create your blog)

3. Also, explore our wiki. How do you...

  • ... create headlines for the different sections?
  • ... make a word bold?
  • ... insert slideshows?
  • ... post pictures?
  • ... create new pages?

(These are important things you should know when you create a wiki; the answers to these questions are not supposed to be posted to the group, but explore them when you create your wiki)

4. Explore different blog hosts and visit some of the blogs there. Here are a few options:

5. Explore some wikis too:

6. For social networks, a few options to explore:

Also, check TOOLS on our wiki to find more suggestions.

7. And now, are you ready to create your own blog or wiki? Don't forget to let the group know about it! Provide the URL here so that everybody can visit and leave a comment.

  • Use your blog or wiki as an e-portfolio for the session
  •  Explore different tools and widgets to add content to your blog/wiki.
  • Share your creations using your favorite tools or any activities done as you play around during the course.
  • Whenever possible, describe how you use the tools.

8.  Create an account on Twitter and embed a Twitter widget in your blog/wiki. Follow the baw2011 twitter account: http://twitter.com/baw2011

Does anyone know when or where the Graham Stanley session recording will be uploaded?
Some of us had no sound and tried to follow through the chat, but a recording would be much more helpful :-)

Thanks!

Hello Everybody,

This is my wiki:

I look forward to your comments on it.
The main goal of this wiki is to gather teachers to work together. As I do not give classes because I'm the headmaster of a school for adults and a Coordinator of Teacher of English in rural schools I try to look activities to work with the teachers who are working with me so after working with me and other teachers they will be able to use these tools and use them with their students.
